Borax is usually a white powder with is made up of soft colorless crystals. These crystals can be dissolved in water easily. Borax is found in many detergents, cosmetics and even enamel glazes. It is used in buffer solutions, as a fire retardant, as and anti-fungal compound for fiberglass, as flux in welding etc. It is packed in a plastic bag and shipped in a box.
